Instructions to authors

Instructions for Authors – Naša škola

Naša škola is a scientific journal published by the Society of Pedagogues of the Republic of Srpska. It publishes review articles, original scientific papers, preliminary reports, scientific critiques and polemics, professional papers, and reviews relevant to the theory and practice of education. Papers that have already been published or submitted for publication elsewhere will not be accepted. If a paper was presented at a scientific conference under the same or a similar title, this information should be indicated in a note at the bottom of the first page. Incorrectly cited or plagiarized texts will not be considered for publication in Naša škola. Authors are required to sign a statement of (co-)authorship.

Manuscript Preparation

Authors should prepare their manuscripts in accordance with the Publication Manual of the American Psychological Association (7th edition – APA standards) before submitting them to the editorial office.

Manuscripts should be sent electronically to: nasaskola.dprs@gmail.com

Papers are accepted in the languages of the peoples of Bosnia and Herzegovina and in English. Authors are responsible for proofreading their texts regardless of the language used. The Editorial Board reserves the right to make changes related to the technical preparation of papers.

Manuscripts should be submitted in Microsoft Word format, using Times New Roman font, 12-point size, line spacing 1.5, with the first line of each paragraph indented automatically. The maximum length of a paper is one author’s sheet (16 pages or 36,000 characters). Review articles may contain up to 45,000 characters. The abstract and the list of references are not included in the total length.

After the title and author’s name(s), and before the main text, an abstract of 150–250 words should be included. The abstract should clearly present the problem, aim, and key results of the research. After the abstract, up to five keywords must be provided.

Authors are encouraged to include their ORCID numbers.

Citation Guidelines

Each citation must be accompanied by a reference and a page number, for example: (Marković, 2010: 68). Titles of separate publications (monographs, collections, journals, dictionaries, etc.) should be written in italics, in the language and script of the original publication. Foreign names should be transcribed in the text, with the original form given in parentheses at first mention, for example: Djui (Dewey, 1997). When citing multiple references within parentheses, they should be listed alphabetically rather than chronologically, e.g. (Drljača, 2023; Jones, 2015; Hus & Čagran, 2008).

If a reference has two authors, both names should be included in the text, e.g. (Hattie & Timperley, 2007). For works in the languages of Bosnia and Herzegovina, the word “i” should be used instead of the symbol “&”. For three or more authors, only the first author’s surname is mentioned, followed by “et al.” for foreign references or “i sar.” for domestic ones.

The list of references should be arranged alphabetically according to the script used (Latin or Cyrillic) and should not be numbered. Every reference cited in the text must appear in the list of references, and vice versa.
