Abstract
The paper aims at presenting to what extent the proper use of capital letter, as one of basic orthographic rules, is developed in high school and professional college students. Furthermore, the paper aims at providing answers to some of the following questions: Have students’ methodological and methodic skills in the Serbian language orthography improved in teaching practice? How much space in the curriculum does the orthography take? We search for the answers to the aforementioned questions in the analysis of the current teaching practice and students’ knowledge and skills, as well as in the weaknesses of the educational process.
