Abstract

The aim of this research is to determine the significance of differences in usage and attitudes towards the Internet and social media in teachers and parents of preschool children respectively. The main method is non-experimental – a survey research on a sample. The sample consists of 228 respondents, 112 teachers and 116 parents. The sample given is purposeful and convenient, which suits the exploratory nature of this research. With regard to the instrument used, it is a modified and shortened version of the questionnaire constructed for a broader research project entitled 'Protective factors and resources available to parents and preschool teachers in introducing preschoolers to negative effects of digital media on children's psychophysical development. The results obtained show that there are no statistically significant differences in usage or attitudes of teachers and parents of preschool children respectively towards the Internet and social media.
