Design and measurement characteristics of the instrument for measuring parental requests and support

Abstract

The variables referring to characteristics of family and family atmosphere are regularly connected with numerous indicators of a child’s development and behaviour. It is for that reason that such variables are a subject of researchers who find it important to have appropriate instruments for their measurement at their disposal. Such an instrument is an inventory designed for measuring the level of requests parents have for their children and the extent of support they provide to them. The design of the inventory and its metric characteristics are described, with some recommendations for future researchers provided as well.
